Ain’t That Peculiar - Official Ambassaduers Video by Veez Nixon.

I recently posted about both Ambassaduers and Veez Nixon (Vixon Media) and now they come together to create an awesome video. After a few anti-social weeks of hard work, my friend Veez has drawn, edited and produced the official video for ‘Ain’t That Peculiar’. Check it out.

Acrid and the GA GENDY Synthesiser

While out with my good friends Guy Andrews and Veez Nixon last friday, I was introduced to a very nice chap by the name of Acrid AKA Jonathan ‘Arty” Young, a Music Informatics graduate working on some awesome sounds.

Although only now finding his feet as a producer, Arty has thrown himself forth into the world with a musical weapon of his own design, the GA GENDY.

Based upon the combination of Xenakis’ generative dynamic stochastic synthesis algorithm (“Gendyn”) and an unsupervised genetic algorithm training procedure (GA), the GA GENDY is a stand alone synthesiser program built in java. Creating rich, thick sounds and timbre through a form of wave shaping synthesis and stochastic alteration.

Check out his tune “Drench” and see what I mean.

It’s made purely with the synth, nothing else.

Acrid is hoping to make the GA-G available for release in the near future.

PORCELAIN RAFT | Amateur’s Feeling

It’s been a very long day and this really hits the spot right now.

Porcelain Raft (aka Mauro Remiddi) is one hell of a producer. There’s something about his productions that give me the psychedelic, electronic, dream pop sound that I love. I’m not sure who is backing it with the vocals but whoever it is on this track, it is beautiful. First listening to this track “Amateur’s Feeling,” it really gave that dreamy vibe. Hard to describe but think of it like this - It is a piano driven ballad spreading the helpless naiveté coming when the emotion overwhelms us fully. It’s beautiful and yet heartbreaking at the same time. The atmosphere can really suck you in and leaves a lingering thought of the empty space that still remains.

last night I heard everything in slow motion // oliver tank

Fellow tumblr Oliver Tank composes and performs chilled out dreamy electronic tunes, or as he calls it “heartfelt computer music.” He has been recently selected to be a finalist in FBi Radio’s Northern Lights Competition, where the top two will be flown to Reykjavic to play at Iceland’s Airwaves Festival. This would be an amazing opportunity for any musician, and you can help him get there by voting HERE

Follow his tumblr for info on his upcoming EP. You can also head over to his SoundCloud, where he has 5 other tracks, including a cover of Snoop Dogg’s ‘Beautiful’, available to download for FREE.

Diggin’ it.

I actually love Daedelus right now. Massive grooves and hectic style combined with the sort of dances that only a musically possessed electronic musician can provide. It’s an awesome live set.

Going to see the one and only Daedelus along with Ambasseduers in Brighton soon soon, who’s coming?

Manni Dee

Ninja tunes / Dudlabs Monome Genius return to Brighton, alongside him local support from Up and Coming producers Ambassaduers, Alphabets Heaven and Manni Dee.

Alfred Darlington aka Daedelus isn’t a paint-by-numbers musician. From how he looks (early Victorian Dandyism), to how he makes music, or how he expresses himself and views the world, his is a very individual ‘bespoke’ outlook. Daedelus pioneered using the Monome in conjunction with Max/MSP for live performances.

He is currently signed to the Ninja Tune label but has released material with a number of labels, including: Plug Research, Mush, Laboratory Instinct, Eastern Developments, Phthalo, Merck, Big Dada, Soul Jazz, Distill, Hefty, Bit Of Heaven, Temporary Whatever, Stones Throw, Alpha Pup, Eat Concrete, Friends Of Friends, Brainfeeder and Warp.
